Who Are We, Anyway? (and why do we do this?)
The New Moon Coffeehouse is an all volunteer, not for profit organization dedicated to providing quality music in a variety of styles. Our staff varies from a core of roughly 6 volunteers to more than a dozen. We do this because we enjoy sharing top quality acoustic music in a focused, smoke-free, alcohol-free setting. We believe that the experience of enjoying music in this way enhances our sense of community and culture in Northeastern MA... and... it's fun! The New Moon typically produces a minimum of one show per month from September to June.

The Room
Most performances are held in the (main) Murray Room of the Unitarian Universalist Church. This room is rectangular (42' x 50') with a high ceiling and plenty of wood. The resulting acoustics are pleasant and warm. We use a raised stage (~12") that consists of up to four sections (8' x 4') expandable to a maximum area of 16' x 8'. For larger acts or performances requiring the concert grand piano, we generally omit the raised stage. Folding chairs and some tables are provided for the audience. Maximum capacity of this room is about 150-190. For larger audiences, we set up in the church sanctuary which can seat 350 or more.
